Creating a Gift Registry for Your Wedding
Organizing and getting married is one of the most stressful yet rewarding tasks ever, especially if you are the bride or the groom. Aside from making your guest list, there are a ton of other things that need to be taken care of. You have to take care of the venue, the reception and the food. To top it all, you might also want to create a wedding gift registry to help your guests know what you need.
On the part of the guests, buying and choosing the perfect wedding gift can be tricky. Sure there are some couples who specify what they want. I’ve seen a wedding invitation before where the couple asked their guests for cash and other small items that they can bring when they migrate to another country after their wedding. If you don’t have any specific plan (except for living a happy life together) then it would be better to create a wedding gift registry for your guests.
What is a gift registry? Basically it is a wish list where you put the specific items that you want to receive. Most appliance centers and department stores offer this kind of service. This also helps avoid receiving the same gift twice from different people. You wouldn’t want to receive two Roper Washers for example, would you? Once the couple has decided on their list, they would tell their guests where to find it. Once a guest buys something off the registry, it gets marked off the list so that other guests know that that specific item has already been bought.
What are things that you should put on your registry? Of course you should put simple home appliances that you may not already have, like a microwave, stove, refrigerator, dishwasher and a washing machine. If you can specify the brand, it would be better to choose a brand that will last long, like Roper Washers, using the same example.
We hope this short guide gives you some ideas for your wedding gift registry!
